Kobe, travel to the past

Kobe, located on the southern side of the main island of Honshu and on the north shore of Osaka Bay, has been an important port city for many centuries and among the first ports to be opened to foreign trade in the 19th century.
New York Public Library has released many old photographs from Japan, including vintage postcards from Kobe from around 1900-1918.
