Odawara: Manhole covers featuring Go-Hojo clan characters

The heads of the Later Hojo clan: Hojo Soun, Hojo Ujitsuna, Hojo Ujiyasu, Hojo Ujimasa and Hojo Ujinao

During the Warring States period, the Go-Hojo clan (Late Hojo clan) ruled the Kanto region for five generations starting in the late 15th century. Odawara was the capital of the domains of the clan.

The Hojo Godai Tourism Promotion Council which is made up of 14 municipalities related to the Hojo clan have created characters of the clan that can be found on manhole covers installed around Odawara Station as part of the Odawara City Design Manhole Cover Installation Project.
