Lafcadio Hearn

Lafcadio Hearn and his wife Setsuko Koizumi in Kumamoto where he has lived for three years.
Hearn was an Irish-Greek writer who introduced Japan to the West through his books Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things, Glimpses of Unfamiliar Japan and many others.

He was born on this day, June 27, 1850, on the Greek island of Lefkada.
