Enoshima Lantern Festival

Enoshima is a small offshore island, about 4 km in circumference, at the mouth of the Katase River, which flows into the Sagami Bay of Kanagawa Prefecture. Every August take place the Enoshima Lantern Festival and the long approach to Enoshima Shrine is lit up with Japanese lanterns.

From Tokyo by rail:
50 min from Tokyo to Fujisawa Station by JR Tokaido Line, and 10 min from Fujisawa to Enoshima Station by Enoden Line, or one hour from Shinjuku to Katase-Enoshima Station by Odakyu Line.
