South Exit

Kakio Station (柿生駅Kakio-eki) is a passenger railway station on the Odakyu Odawara Line, situated in Asao-ku, Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. Operated by Odakyu Electric Railway, the station lies 23.4 kilometers from Shinjuku Station, the line’s Tokyo terminus.

It was opened on April 1, 1927, coinciding with the launch of the Odakyu Odawara Line. It is among the oldest stations in Asao Ward. Shin-Yurigaoka Station, the central transportation hub of Asao Ward, opened in 1974.

Origin of the Station Name
The name “Kakio” comes from the former place name “Kakio Village” which was named because the area was the place of origin of the Zenjimaru persimmon and was also a major persimmon-producing region. However, Kakio Village itself was incorporated into Kawasaki City in April 1939, and the place name no longer exists today.
