The Shizuoka Press and Broadcasting Center building, located in Ginza 8-chome, Chuo Ward, Tokyo. It houses the Tokyo branch offices of Shizuoka Shimbun and Shizuoka Broadcasting. In addition, the Tokyo branch offices of Yamanashi Nichinichi Shimbun and Yamanashi Broadcasting are located on the 4th and 5th floors of the building.
It was designed by the renowned architect Kenzo Tange (1913-2005) in 1967. It is one of the most recognizable examples of Japan’s Metabolist architecture, symbolizing the country’s rapid postwar economic expansion.
