Famous daimyo Uesugi Kenshin (1530 -1578), a military genius known as the “Dragon of Echigo” and a long-standing rival of Takeda Shingen, on a manhole cover at Maebashi Park (Gunma Prefecture). He became the lord of Maebashi Castle in 1560 and used it as his main base for his incursions into the Kanto region.
The cover was designed by Tsuyoshi Nagano, an illustrator of popular video games.
