Toyokuni Jinja (豊国神社) is a Shinto shrine located in Nakamura Park at Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City. It was built in 1885 in honor of Hideyoshi Toyotomi (豊臣 秀吉, 1537-1598), the great samurai and daimyo who is regarded as the second “Great Unifier” of Japan (the other two are Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu). Hideyoshi was born at this place.
The shrine is considered to bring good fortune to one’s career, benefits the tea ceremony and construction of various kinds.
