Minami-Shinjuku Station

Minami-Shinjuku Station (南新宿駅) is a railway station on the Odakyu Odawara Line. Although its name includes “Shinjuku” the station is situated within Shibuya Ward. The origin of the station’s name is not definitively known, but it is commonly said to come from the station’s location on the south side of Shinjuku Station.

It opened on 1 April 1927. Before adopting its current name in 1942, the station was previously known as Sendagaya-Shinden and Odakyu-Honsha-mae. It was originally located in another location, 150 meters away, and was moved to its current location in 1973.

Its station number is OH 02, making it the second station on the line after Shinjuku Station.
