Tenso Shrine (Roppongi)

Tenso Jinja (天祖神社) is a Shinto shrine in Roppongi, Minato Ward, Tokyo, founded in 1384 during the Nanboku-cho period. It is also called Ryudo Shinmei-gu (dragon light shrine) due to a legend that a dragon (ryu) used to fly there from the coast of Shinagawa (Edo Bay) to present a lantern.

There is another small shrine on the shrine grounds, the Manpuku Inari Shrine which enshrines Fukurokuju, God of wisdom and longevity and one of the Minato Seven Lucky Gods.

Tenso Jinja is a 7-minute walk from Roppongi Station.
