Shimabara Station

Shimabara Station (島原駅) is the main railway station in Shimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture. It is operated by Shimabara Railway and serves the Shimabara Railway Line. The distance from the line’s terminus at Isahaya Station is 40.5 kilometers.

Shimabara station was opened on 24 September 1913. The current station building was completed on 22 December 1989 and is designed to resemble the main gate of Shimabara Castle, which is about a 12-minute walk from the station.
