Anamori Inari Shrine – Ota City, Tokyo

If you’re landing at Haneda Airport and can’t wait to see red torii gates, only five minutes by train is Anamori Inari Jinja (穴守稲荷神社). It is one of the most famous Inari shrines in Tokyo, and is also known as an aviation safety, travel safety and airport protection shrine due to its history of being located at Haneda Airport.
It was founded in the Bunka-Bunsei period (1804-1830) on the site where Haneda Airport is today. After World War Ⅱ, the Allied Forces forced the shrine to be moved from its original location (it was located near the southern end of the current runway B) within 48 hours due to the expansion of Haneda Airport.

Anamori Inari Shrine is located in Ota ward and it is 3 min walk from Anamori-inari Station. For visitors traveling from the Haneda Airport station, the shrine is a 5-minute train ride on the Keikyu Airport Line.
