Yoshiie, also known as Hachimantaro Yoshiie was a Minamoto clan samurai of the late Heian period, and Chinjufu-shogun (Commander-in-chief of the defense of the North). He holds a prominent place in Japanese history as a warrior of exceptional skill and renown. Even in his lifetime, he was more than a warrior – he was a legend and the embodiment of the samurai spirit.
