Commemorative Postbox in Shimabara

This postbox was installed outside Shimabara Station in April 1990, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Shimabara City. On April 1, 1940 (Showa 15), the town of Shimabara merged with the villages of Annaka and Sugitani to form the city of Shimabara.
