“Prince Chichibu as a Young Alpinist” by Japanese sculptor Fumio Asakura (1883-1964) in Prince Chichibu Memorial Sport Gallery at the Japan National Stadium, Tokyo.

Prince Chichibu (Yasuhito) was the second son of Emperor Taisho. He was born on 25 June 1902 and passed away on 4 January 1953. He was widely renowned among the people of Japan as the “sporting Prince” due to his efforts to promote skiing, rugby and other sports.
