The factory is designated by the government as a historical site and all its buildings are preserved in very good condition. On June 21, 2014 Tomioka Silk Mill was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site.
The nearest railway station to Tomioka Silk Mill is “Joshu Tomioka” on the Joshin Dentetsu Line, about 10 minutes on foot.
